Entry #6. Mechs and Loneliness-Evangelion
There aren't many shows that made me feel a specific way. I'm not one to have much of a reaction when watching or reading certain media. However, there was always one, Evangelion, an anime about three teenagers saving the world from alien monsters called Angels. Oh boy, surely that's what it's all about. Hang out with friends and go to the beach while saving the world simultaneously. Aren't most media about piloting giant robots all about? What more is there? Why is Evangelion, an anime from 1997, still being talked about?
To summarize the plot, there are three main characters: Shinji, Rei, and Asuka. All three have been tasked with destroying the Angels, giant monsters that come down to earth, seeking to destroy it. It's a simple enough plot for most people starting the anime, though that's what the anime wants you to think. (No spoils, of course)

Without spoiling the events that happen in the anime, I will explain the anime's point. The anime makes it clear that each character deals with loneliness. The anime, all together, is about loneliness, depression, and trauma and how each character copes with it. You get to see how each character deals with their loneliness and how much they do throughout the anime. The anime is full of psychological and philosophical elements. It's what makes this anime relevant to this day. It's what made me love anime in the first place. Here is a video about the points of the anime from my favorite YouTuber: why we're together, but alone (youtube.com)
Well, who knew an anime about teenagers in Mechs fighting Angels would be so profound? It's just gems like these that make me want to make a whole video about them. Nevertheless, I highly recommend watching this anime, even if it's your first one. Its one that you won't forget, trust me on that.

I enjoy reading your post learning about all the games and anime I have never heard of. My knowledge went as far as Dragon Ball Z now I can join in on conversation when someone talks about this which is more common than I ever thought.
